Enzo Mari Chair

This project studies the human scale and how it relates to architectural design. Through practicing physical fabrication and hand drafting, chairs designed by Enzo Mari were examined and later abstracted to consider human forms and postures.

Chair Fabrication

Here a chair designed by Enzo Mari was constructed using U.S. standard dimensional lumber.

The Human
Scale Collage

This series features hand-drafting as well as a mixed media collage. Here the original design of the Enzo Mari chairs begin to be abstracted.

Taking inspiration from the reclined posture of French chaise lounge chairs, this collage commentates on classism in design.

Parklet Design

This series takes the abstracted chair designs a step further to use elements of abstraction in design. Through three-dimensional and two-dimensional representations, this collection of drawings contextualizes a design for a parklet.
